Equipping Others Through Education

RICS provides education and training in pastoral care and visitation. Through a grant from a local foundation, RICS was able to train 17 pastoral care visitors who took part in a six-month research project to assess the contribution of lay visitation.

 

RICS offers an intensive 400-hour Supervised Clinical Ministry education program for students from area seminaries, giving them not only insight and knowledge of issues of older adults but practical experience in pastoral care and in worship leadership with these populations. Through hands-on practice, reflection, and feedback, students learn how to be effective instruments of God’s grace.
